Product Search

To find the product you need, browse through our catalog or search for items using the Search Wizard. All search functions are completely safe. We have developed our content to ensure it is well-presented, provides the information you need, and is easy to access. Every e-store page provides a Keyword search form for your convenience.

Adding Items to Your Shopping Cart

Every catalogue item has an "Order Now" button on the product information page. This button instantly places the product in your shopping cart. You may place as many items as you want in your shopping cart. Moving something to your shopping cart does not commit you to purchasing it. Once you place an item in your cart, you may then choose to place the order immediately using the navigation bar at the top of the page or continue shopping via the "Continue Shopping" link until your cart contains all the items you want to order. You may view the contents of your Shopping Cart at any time simply by clicking the Shopping Cart icon at the top of every page on our Web site.

Purchases and downloads

  • How do I purchase the software?

    Some of our software titles exist on CDs which are delivered to you by mail as boxed items, while other titles are made available as downloads. With downloads, once payment has been received, you simply access our secure download system to get the product you have purchased from our site. You are given an activation key which is used to register your copy of the software.

  • Is this software application compatible with the operating system I am currently using?

    Please refer to the specifications in the product description - if you do not see the name of your device listed, please use our free trial version to check software compatibility. If you experience difficulties using the product or have questions once you have downloaded the software, please write us at info@lingvo.us.

  • I cannot locate the translation software I want.

    Please write to us on info@lingvo.us describing your requirements in as much detail as possible and we will recommend a product to meet your needs.

  • I have purchased a product but have lost my registration key, what should I do?

    Please check your account information where you should see the registration keys for all the programs you have purchased or write to us so that we may consider your case individually - we will either send you new keys or offer you a discount.

  • I purchased your product and see that a new version is now available. I would like to buy this upgrade at a discounted price.

    Please write us at info@lingvo.us and we will offer you a discount.

  • Do your Trial versions have any restrictions?

    Usually our Trial versions allow you to access about 10% of the database value with full functionality, but depending on the product, there can be variations. For further information, please click here.

  • What if I am unable pay using a credit card?

    Simply write to us on info@lingvo.us to discuss all possible payment options.

  • I would like to buy this software, but it's too expensive for me.

    Please write to us on info@lingvo.us and we will tell you if the software you need qualifies for a special discount.

  • Why doesn't my registration key work?

    Your registration key is a number issued specifically to you that allows you to register your new software and begin using its full version. If you are experiencing difficulty using your registration code, please consider the following:

    • Have you have entered the registration key correctly?
    • If you have bought several software products, are you entering the key that corresponds to the correct application.
    • The registration key must be entered in capital letters only. Please be sure that you have done this.
    • Certain characters are often confused with others (for example 0, in place of the letter O).
    • If you requested your registration key using the software ID, please be sure that the software ID was correctly entered.


  • How do I register my Trial copy?

    To register a Trial copy, you must complete the online registration process. To see step-by-step instructions, please click here for a detailed explanation. Alternately you may use the Register link found within most Lingvo applications. In addition, we have also created a special webpage that lets you register your software quickly and easily.   • In place of Chinese symbols, I see only squares displayed. Do I have to install a Chinese font? Where can I find it?

    Please download the font from http://www.ectaco.com/user/download/SIMSUN_2_90.TTC. Once you have downloaded the file to your hard drive, copy the SIMSUN_2_90.TTC file to your Mobile device/Windows/Fonts folder, and perform a soft reset of your PDA to begin using your dictionary.

  • How can I remove Language Support software? I keep receiving a "Can not delete. File in use" error message.

    Please try deleting unwanted files manually using your File Explorer. Go to the 'Windows' folder and 'cut' the file named 'check386.exe'. Then, 'Paste' the file into the 'Temp' (or any other) folder. Perform a soft reset of your PDA. Following the reset, return to the 'Temp' folder and delete 'check386.exe'. Now you can go into 'Program Files' and delete the 'Ectaco Language Support' folder.

Proceed to Checkout

Our checkout area is where you can purchase any items you have put into your Shopping Cart and is completely secure. The Billing & Shipping Information page and all checkout pages thereafter are accessed in secure mode. Shipping & handling is not applied to downloadable orders.
Please take a moment to review the items you've placed in your Shopping Cart. If you decide against purchasing a particular item at the moment, simply click the "Remove" link which you will find next to the "Amount". The item will then be automatically removed from your current "Shopping Cart". Once you are ready to place an order for everything you have in the "Shopping Cart", click the "Checkout now!" button. You will then be taken to the first page of the order form.

Placing Your First Order

Placing an order with Lingvo.us couldn't be easier and you do not need to create an account to place an online order. If you do create an account you will be able to monitor all your orders and view a detailed order history. To make your online shopping experiences as safe and enjoyable as possible, we use only the most advanced e-commerce solutions. We use the respected THAWTE system to provide SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) protection for the most secure online transactions and VeriSign, for security in the payment process.

As a new customer you simply enter your email address and choose a password, after confirming the password, you then click the "Submit" button. (Please remember that the email address you provide here is the only email address to which we will be able send information regarding your subsequent orders.)

Registering an Account

You will need an account in order to access your order status and history, to receive registration keys, to download full versions of purchased software, and to subscribe and unsubscribe to our news and press releases. If you have forgotten your password and need to retrieve it, we can remind you by email if you follow this link.

Your Account and Mail Preferences

Lingvo accounts are automatically configured to let you receive news on our latest product releases, services and events. In addition you will automatically notifications of special offers and product promotions. If you prefer not to receive these materials, please indicate this by choosing your preferences. To change notification preferences, simply uncheck the box next to "Send Lingvo news".

Shipping Address

You may have your order shipped to any address you want and need only specify at which address you prefer to receive your order. If you wish to have an order sent to an address different from your billing address, that address must be verified. Please note that all required fields must be completed on your order form.
Once you have placed an order, one of our sales representatives will contact you to confirm the address and date of your delivery. Please be aware that all Lingvo orders require a signature upon delivery and may not be left at an address without an authorized signature. To prevent fraud it is advised that you inform your card issuer, using the phone numbers located on the back of your card or on your monthly statement, that you would like to authorize an alternate shipping address for your account. This information will then remain on file for future orders.

Changing your Account Details

If your email and/or physical addresses have changed, you should update your information. Simply click on "Your account" at the top of our Home page and sign in if you haven't already done so. Scroll to the bottom of the page where you will find "Account settings". On the "Account Settings" page, select the information you would like to update (name, email or address) to make any changes. Click "Update profile". To ensure your security, you will be prompted to enter your password before any changes are saved.

Billing Address

In order to complete any transaction we are required to verify your billing address with your credit card company. To do this you should provide us with the address at which you receive your monthly statement by filling in a form. If you provide us with any incorrect or incomplete information your order will be delayed and additional processing charges may be applied. We will contact you via email if we experience any problems authorizing your order. Please note that this is a standard requirement of all credit card issuers for payment authorization and is designed to insure online security. Note that you must fill out all required fields. We require a correct billing address for credit card verification only. We will never send any mail to this address unless you specifically request it. Providing us with your billing address helps protect your credit card from fraudulent use.

Select a Shipping Method

Choose a shipping method based on how quickly you would like to receive your merchandise. We will indicate estimated shipment and delivery dates on the order form and in an email that confirms your order.

Select a Payment Method

We accept American Express, MasterCard/Euro Card, Discover and Visa. If you pay using a credit/debit card, all you do is simply enter the card number without spaces or dashes. If you're purchasing a product available for download, we will debit your account and provide you with the registration key for the download.

Review your Order

Once you have entered all required information, click on the "Here" button that you will find on the bottom of the page. An order summary will be generated and the order will be confirmed by a message to the electronic address you've entered.

Warranty

Ectaco warrants to the end user that the products sold on Lingvo.us will be free of defects in material and craftsmanship for a period of ONE YEAR from the date of original retail purchase, as evidenced by the sales receipt. If any defect occurs, users must return the product either to the dealer or directly to one of the Ectaco offices.
